The Governor of the North undertakes to support metal investments and to overcome the obstacles of geological research

The Governor of the Northern State, Lieutenant-General Abdel Rahman Abdel Hamid, is committed to supporting the general authority for geological research and overcoming the obstacles that hinder his activities, in a decision to strengthen investment activity in one of Sudan's most promising sectors, in the midst of growing economic pressure on the transitional government.

During his meeting with the director of the Office of Authority in the State, the geology of Muddathir Ragab Ahmed, the governor stressed the importance of allowing the authority to fulfill his role in the attraction of investments and the development of resources, at a time when Khartoum seeks to diversify the sources of income of gold and oil.

For his part, the director of geological research in the North State, the geology of Muddathir Rajab, said that the State is rich in industrial minerals, such as marble and calcium carbonate, which are included in more than fifty industries, building materials in pharmaceutical and plastic industries, indicating that the exploitation of these resources can open the door to an additional series.

He added that new investment plans will be offered in the coming period, which should help provide the national economy with significant yields if the legislative environment and the appropriate infrastructure are available.

This happens at a time when the interest of regional investors for Sudanese mineral resources, despite security and logistical challenges.
