The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Ahmed Mudawi Moussa, said that Sudan is going through a historic moment, because the country was confronted with great challenges, but we were able to overcome the most powerful difficulties. He stressed that the march of education continues despite the challenges and that higher education has undergone great losses due to the rapid rebellion of the support militia. He also underlined the vital role that the education sector plays the Renaissance of the Fatherland.
He explained that the ministry had developed a triple axis plan, which includes the restart and stability of higher education and scientific research establishments in Sudan, thanks to the rehabilitation of affected universities and units, and the supply of an alternative headquarters for universities in the fields under the control of the rebellious militia.
Strengthen capacity and train teachers inside and outside the country, as well as take care of students and develop their skills. Digital transformation, developing scientific research by allocating an important budget for innovation, protecting intellectual property in higher education establishments and focusing on specialized electronic and engineering programs.
He congratulated the universities of Darfur, who continued to play his role despite the challenges that the country faced following the war.
He added that students are the most expensive fruits in the country and that the development of their capacities is an absolute priority, by creating an appropriate educational environment. He also underlined the Prime Minister to offer opportunities to the families of the children of the martyrs of the Battle of Dignity.
For its part, Dr. Babiker Hussein, director of the General Department of Information and Networks of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, said that the announcement process of admission to higher education institutions for students of the delayed batch for the 2023 announcement was completely smooth, noting that the ministry has succeeded in restoring the electronic system of universities and to restore software and launch the digital application system.
He stressed that the number of candidates for admission to higher education establishments reached 88,014 male and female students, with 59.6% of total successful people, while the number of candidates of Arab and foreign certificates reached 1,752 students.
Dr. Babiker stressed that the ministry, in cooperation with its partners, was able to completely restore the digital system and link it to the financial system of the Ministry of Finance, which made it possible to succeed in electronic admission and payment operations.
He stressed that the restart experience is a reconstruction model, without limiting itself, but also includes vital systems and services.
He added that the success of the introduction and electronic acceptance of universities is the fruit of a real national partnership and an integrated system in which many hands have participated in the interest of the country.
He also stressed that the announcement of the result of the acceptance of higher education establishments embodies the victories of the armed forces, the general intelligence service, the police and the support forces in the battle of dignity.
