The Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, witnessed the announcement of elections for the Supreme Islamic Islamic Affairs Council, where Sheikh Hajj Ibrahim Tawhfa was re-elected at the head of the Ethiopian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs for a new five-year term.
The announcement occurred during the closing ceremony of the national elections held at the Great Mosque Anwar in Addis Ababa.
The President of the Executive Elections Council, Dr. Abdulaziz Ibrahim, announced the results of the vote.
According to the results, Sheikh Al -Hajj Ibrahim will resume the presidency of the Council, while Sheikh Abdul Karim Badr Al -Din was elected first vice-president and Sheikh Junaid Hamza as vice-president and Sheikh Hamid Musa as vice-president and professor Tamkeen Abdullah Advice.
Dr. Abdel Aziz also explained that the new collection of the Supreme Council will include 195 members, as well as 15 executive members representing various regions of the country.
The new council should assume its responsibilities in the direction of Islamic religious affairs in Ethiopia over the next five years.
